Super Mario Flash title v.8.0

Super Mario Flash (also known as SMF1) is the first online game in the Super Mario Flash series developed by Pouetpu in 2007. Later, in 2016, Super Mario Flash was unofficially updated to Super Mario Flash Ver.E (Super Mario Flash Version Extended) by Hiro. Current version is 8.1. You can play it here.

Super Mario Flash is based on the Nintendo game Super Mario Bros., and also combines several features of different games such Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World.

Gameplay[]

The following list contains the actions Mario and Luigi can do while playing a level:

  • Move right: →
  • Move left: ←
  • Jump: ↑
  • Crouch: ↓
  • Fireballs: [space]
  • Open Doors: [space]

The following list contains the actions Mario and Luigi can do on 1-player game world map.

  • Move character/choose an item on items menu: ↑, ↓, →, ←
  • Play a level/select item on items menu: [space]
  • Open/close items menu: b

The game includes 1-player game, level editor and two playable characters: Mario and Luigi.

1-player game[]

Super Mario Flash offers a 1-player game where players can play levels made by Pouetpu. This game contains 10 levels:

  1. Grassland level with bonus zone
  2. Cave, exits to a short grassland level
  3. Treetops
  4. Forest
  5. Castle and False Bowser battle
  6. Grassland level
  7. Cave, exits to a short grassland level
  8. Treetops
  9. Forest
  10. King Koopa Castle and Bowser battle

The game also includes passages and Toad houses:

  1. Passage 1: Connects the first map with a secret island
  2. Passage 2: Connects the second map with passage 3
  3. Passage 3: Connects passage 2 with King Koopa island
  4. 1st Toad house: Place where Mario/Luigi can obtain items to save on his item menu.
  5. 2nd Toad house: Place where Mario/Luigi can obtain items to save on his item menu.
  6. Secret Toad house: Place where Mario/Luigi can get lives by selling 10000 points.

Level Editor[]

Super Mario Flash also features a level editor, which let users build and edit their own levels. You can access the menu where tiles, objects, enemies, warp points and the save page is by pressing up and go back to editing your level by pressing down.
